Ministry Teams

 

Associational Executive Ministry
 
Members of this ministry team are to represent Red House Baptist Church at the quarterly meetings of the Tates Creek Baptist Association. They will keep the church informed of the work and ministry of our local Baptist Association.

Audio/Visual Ministry
This ministry is to provide the best possible sound system for the worship services at Red House Baptist Church. They will videotape the morning worship services along with other special services and furnish individuals to run the sound system for events in the sanctuary.

 Caring Closet Ministry
 
The purpose of this ministry is to fulfill the scripture that say, "I was hungry and you fed me." This ministry maintains a food closet to meet emergency needs for food from individuals who call upon the church for provision. The members work to keep the closet stocked with nonperishable food items and distribute food supplies on a rotating basis to those individuals who have a need.

Educational Ministries
Our Educational Ministry provides ongoing discipleship opportunities for the church body and community that will enable them to grow in their relationship to Christ resulting in spiritual maturity, Christian ministry and leadership responsibility. Educational Ministries includes four areas of ministry: Discipleship, New Member Encourager, Women and Men
Ministries.

The Discipleship Ministry provides opportunities for study that serve to help an individual to become a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Members serving in the discipleship area of Educational Ministries help prepare, plan, staff, and promote discipleship growth opportunities such as discipleship study courses or special seminars.
 
The New Member Encourager’s Ministry exists to help assimilate new members and Christians into the life of the body of believers at Red House Baptist Church. This ministry provides an encourager to work with the new member or Christian for a specific period of time as an encourager and mentor. It also provides introductory discipleship resources to help educate the new member on the Christian life and church membership. This ministry also helps prepare, plan, staff, and promote the New Members Sunday School class that is help on a four-week rotation basis. Members of this ministry may choose to serve on the planning team or an encourager.
 
The Women and Men’s Ministries exist to provide opportunities specific to the needs of the women and men in our congregation and/or community. These teams plan, staff, and promote the annual Women and Men’s Retreats and oversee any special discipleship needs for women and men. These ministries also provide information and coordination of any special events of interest as special women’s conferences such as Beth Moore’s Living Proof Seminars or special men’s conferences such as Promise Keepers.
 
Extended Teaching Care Ministry
This team exists to coordinate, staff, plan, and implement extended teaching care as a ministry to our preschoolers/children and parents during worship services and special church wide events.

First Impression Ministry
This ministry has a three-fold purpose in providing individuals who will work with the Flower Ministry, Parking Lot Ministry, and Welcome Center Ministry.
 
The Flower Ministry is responsible for securing, arranging, and disposing of floral arrangement for church services both in the sanctuary and the Welcome Center. They help provide special decor during the holiday seasons and providing flowers for bereaved members.
 
The Parking Lot Ministry is responsible for meeting needs in the parking areas prior to Sunday morning services. They may need to provide direction into the church, umbrellas or wheel chair assistance, when needed. They may also be called upon to assist the Buildings and Grounds Committee with clearing walk areas during snowy weather conditions.
 
The Welcome Center Ministry provides individuals to be available in the Welcome Center or at other church entrances to meet, greet, and help people as they come into the church. They provide bulletins, information, and help with Sunday School class decisions.
 
Grounds Maintenance Ministry
This ministry team provides the manpower for helping keep the church grounds attractive and a safe place for all to worship and fellowship together.

Hospitality Ministry
This ministry is responsible for formulating and recommending to the church policies and plans for social activities of the church. They will plan, coordinate, and staff (as needed) the social and fellowship gatherings of the church.

Library Resource/Media Center
The Library Ministry will serve as the resource center for the church. It will seek to provide and promote the use of the printed and audiovisual resources for teaching and learning. This ministry will maintain the church library, provide consultation to church leaders and members in the use of printed and audiovisual resources, and provide reading materials that will encourage Christian growth to the congregation and community.

Nominating Ministry
This ministry prayfully coordinates the recruitment and selection of all church leadership positions of the church that are staffed by the laymen of the church body.

Personnel Ministry
This team consists of five members: one deacon representative, one stewardship representative, and three members selected by the nominating ministry team. Each of those is to serve three-year term. The pastor serves as an ex-officio member. This ministry’s purpose is to assist the church in matters related to employed personnel administration such as salaries, benefits, policies, and procedures. They will survey the needs for additional employees, recruit, and recommend prospective employees for the church.

Prayer Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is to enlist believers to become praying Watchman, keeping them encouraged and accountable to each other and the church for the church’s prayer needs. This team also assists in promoting prayer church-wide for REACH night, revivals, and special events.

Publicity Ministry
This ministry team is responsible for all publicity needs of the church. This includes publicizing special events to the community and helping with publicity needs within the church. They maintain the publicity bulletin board in the Welcome Center.

Recreation Ministry
The ministry will serve the church in seeking to meet the recreational needs of members and groups. They provide recreational activities, consultation, leadership, assistance, and resources.

Scholarship Ministry
This ministry awards annual scholarships to those church members seeking financial assistance from a Baptist college. They will review and award the scholarships based on need.

Spiritual-Awakening Ministry
This ministry is to prepare and organize the church to meet its spiritual-renewal needs. They should work closely with the staff and delegate responsibility to existing teams to meet needs.

Stewardship Ministry
This ministry develops and recommends an overall stewardship information plan and administers the gifts of the church members using sound principles of financial management. This ministry will prepare an annual budget to be approved by the church as well as provide an update on the financial condition of the church at each quarterly business meeting.

Usher Ministry
This ministry provides ushers to greet people entering the sanctuary, assist in the seating, distribute bulletins and information, and assist with receiving tithes and offerings during the worship services.

Van Maintenance Ministry
This ministry assumes primary responsibility for general maintenance and repairs of church vehicles.

Van Ministry
This ministry provides individuals who assist in driving the church vans to provide transportation to and from church activities for those who request assistance.
