Dwayne Abrahamson, Minister of Students / Recreation

Dwayne was born and raised in Mobile, AL. He went to college at the University of South Alabama and received a degree in chemical engineering. While in college, he was very involved with Baptist Campus Ministry. After graduating from college, he went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX, where he received his Master of Divinity in December of 2000. While in seminary, he met his wife, Joni, and they have been married since November of 2000. They have two boys, Aaron, 6, and Luke, 4.

Dwayne has a passion for youth and college students. His desire is for them to know Christ, receive Christ, live for Christ, and share the love of Christ. He wants them to follow the cross and not the crowd. He wants them to truly understand the words of Jesus in Matt 16:24, “If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” Dwayne is excited what God is going to do in and through the student ministry of Red House.

Linda Coulter, Director of Childhood Ministries

Linda grew up in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, graduating from Anderson County High School. She received her BS and MA in Communication Disorders from Eastern Kentucky University. She works as a speech/language pathologist for a local agency, serving children birth to three years of age.

Linda was called to Red House as the part-time Minister to Preschoolers and Children in May of 1984. She serves on the Tates Creek Associational Consultation Team (ACT) and is a state special worker for the Kentucky Baptist Convention, leading conferences in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Discipleship Training.

From the heart:
I grew up in a Christian home, accepting Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord at the age of 9. It was during GA camp that I began to realize that God had a special plan for my life. Through a variety of people and experiences, God began to prepare me for work with children. When His call came to serve at Red House, I was finishing college and preparing to marry. Eddie and I were praying for guidance to a church home. Red House has been home now for over 22 years. God has used this time to teach, train, and grow me in ways I never anticipated.

One of my goals for the children at Red House is that each of them will understand that God has a special plan for them, just as He did for me. That plan begins with their decision to follow Christ and continues throughout their lives. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses:  "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
